How’s my fundraising?
Like every good swot, we love to get our grades back. With that in mind, we’d like to show you some of the report cards we’ve received from people we’ve met on the street in the last year. We admit it’s a selection of some of the best, but they’re all the genuine article, submitted by helpful supporters, frank passers by, and well-meaning vigilante groups:
Cherry Atkinson was enthusiastic and friendly, knowledgeable and sincere and was charming in both appearance and demeanour. She was quick-thinking and persuasive, in so much as I would allow myself to be persuaded, and I felt that she had done her profession a credit - politely assertive; determined yet respectful.
While I would happily spend the afternoon inventing more eloquent phrases; deploying metaphorical praises and lyrical admissions of the young lady’s graces, I unfortunately have other things to do!
But in my opinion, she deserves a pat on the back at least.
During my lunch hour I was stopped outside the area of Lloyds TSB in Shrewsbury town centre by a really charming young man called Michael Tansley-Thomas. He greeted me with a joyful speech and was very easy going and made me feel at ease talking to him. Not many people nowadays are this approachable and you don’t find many fundraisers like him!
I just wanted to say how fantastic Sarah Fleming was when she was out fundraising on Bexley Heath High Street on the 8th of July. She was absolutely the best street fundraiser I’ve ever been stopped by. She was happy, smiley and enthusiastic!
