How’s my fundraising?

Like every good swot, we love to get our grades back. With that in mind, we’d like to show you some of the report cards we’ve received from people we’ve met on the street in the last year. We admit it’s a selection of some of the best, but they’re all the genuine article, submitted by helpful supporters, frank passers by, and well-meaning vigilante groups:

Me and my friend were stopped by Harriet Malphie yesterday who was fundraising for Mind. My mum has been working with mentally ill people for years so I know quite a few people who have spent time in a psychiatric ward, so I’ve heard of Mind before. I’m sure they’d be delighted that someone like Harriet is representing them in the way she was yesterday, she told us the problem well without distorting the truth and told us accurately what Mind do. I decided to sign up, and I think I was more surprised than Harriet when my friend decided to sign up as well! I don’t think I could convince him to sign up to anything, and he’s my best mate. Top marks.

Sam Carpenter approached me in Sale town centre and asked me if I would be interested in helping to raise money for Scope. Sam was patient and understanding as he explained what Scope was all about. He was not pushy in any way and had a fantastic passion for what he was promoting which really influenced my decision to contribute to the cause.

I have often been approached by similar organisations in the past but Sam was head and shoulders above any representative of a charity organisation I have previously come across. If all charity representatives were so honest, ethical and charismatic I’m sure many more would be happy to donate.

I had a very entertaining and informative chat with one of your staff today in Liverpool and felt I should send my compliments on a job well done on his part.  I guess it must be hard to fundraise in busy city centres where not many people can make time for you, but one Nick Napolitano was exceptionally cheerful nonetheless and I probably wouldn’t have been inclined to sign up otherwise.

To cut a long story short, Nick was lovely and if there were more people like him out there you’d get plenty more donations I’m sure!
